Kepong Baru residents to press on with compensation against DID

RESIDENTS of Kepong Baru in Kuala Lumpur will not give up their fight in seeking compensation from the Drainage and Irrigation Department (DID) for the damages suffered during a flash flood in April last year.

At a meeting last week with DID officers and representatives of the contractor Petro-dec Sdn Bhd, the residents were informed by the contractor’s insurance company that they were not eligible for compensation as the flooding was deemed to be a natural disaster.
