Red lanterns over busy stretch create festive mood

THE mood to celebrate Chinese New Year has been created as the 3.5km-long commercial stretch in Jalan Raja Uda, Butterworth, is once again decorated with some 10,000 red lanterns.

The China-made silk lanterns, which are strung zigzag across the road, have become a major attraction during the festive season since the street was first decorated in a big way in 2011.
