Treat from top artiste with a heart

Rouzi: ‘I’ve been through difficult times before’
KUALA LUMPUR: Those who attended the musical extravaganza Mystical Steppes: Along the Silk Road would have enjoyed the performance of one of China’s top artistes.

Rouzi Amuti, one of two singers who performed in the show over the weekend, has performed with big names like Jacky Cheung, A-Mei, Aaron Kwok and Eric Tsang.

Rouzi, who has been performing with the Central Nation Dance Troupe for 10 years, has two solo albums under his belt.

“It is very hard to get leave from the Central Nation Dance Troupe because we have a tight schedule but the leader agreed to release me when he found out that I will be performing in Malaysia for a charity event,” he said.

The 46-year-old, who is from a poor family, said he hoped to help as much as he could through the show.

“I have been through difficult times before and I hope I can help improve the lives of some unfortunate people in this country,” he said.

The nett proceeds from the show will go to the Yayasan Raja Musa Selangor, Alzheimers Disease Foundation of Malaysia and Hospis Malaysia through The Star Foundation.
