Dazzling, spectacular and enchanting are the descriptions for the dances from Xinjiang. Donning bright and colourful ethnic costumes, male and female dancers will re-enact traditional dances which are accompanied by hand drums, tambourines, high-pitched sonas and other melodious indigenous string instruments. And while the womenfolk twirl and pirouette gracefully in their shimmering rainbow-hued costumes to the vibrant tempo of the ethnic beat, the men, by contrast prance proudly exhibiting the power of their legwork. Together they imbue the essence of an exuberant way of life.
