Taking employers to task over runaway foreign workers

I MUST start by lauding the Government’s move to make employers responsible for paying the levy on their foreign workers effective Jan 1.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said this was enforced under the Employer Mandatory Commitment (EMC) and the employers would be disallowed from deducting the levy from the wages of their workers.
