Are they really eco-friendly

TWO years ago, I wrote about hybrids and electric cars, saying that they are not quite environmentally friendly. I was lambasted by readers who claimed that I was out of touch with reality. Some even call me a hypocrite for going against such cars given that I am pro-environment and against mega-dams.

Governments everywhere are giving incentives and grants to encourage hybrid and electric cars. These cars sell because some experts claimed that they were fuel-saving and environment friendly.
