WE HAVE not had flash floods in Universiti Malaya (UM) for more than two-and-a-half years now, following a few mitigation initiatives involving improvements of our culverts, sumps and drainage.

There is one flood mitigation facility – retention pond – located near Palapes – under the responsibility of the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL).
