Chance to get tips from world champion
|
Rare chance: Nicol will conduct a two-hour coaching clinic tomorrow, and all trainees from centres of excellence in Selangor have been invited. She will also sign autographs for her fans. |
Nicol, who is in the country for the Malaysian Open, will conduct a two-hour coaching clinic as well as sign autographs for her fans.
The clinic is organised by the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) and Prince, the equipment sponsor to the MBPJ squash development programme.
MBPJ squash development programme co-ordinator Mary Ong said they had invited all trainees from centres of excellence in Selangor.
Under the core sports programme, the Squash Rackets Association of Selangor (SRAS) has set up centres in Executive Club in Klang, Rakan Muda Sports Complex in Puchong, SMK Bukit Bintang in Petaling Jaya and 3K complex in Subang Jaya.
Ong, who is also SRAS secretary, said it was an excellent opportunity for budding players to get some useful tips from Nicol.
“It is a very rare occasion. Nicol is based in Amsterdam and flies into Malaysia only once or twice a year.
“Due to her hectic schedule, she is seldom available for coaching clinics, so all young squash players in Selangor should make themselves free for the clinic,” she added.
