The IJM Land Half Marathon 2017 (IJM Half 2017) is back to continue its emphasis on promotiong a healthy lifestyle among Malaysians and bringing together communities in Seremban 2, Negri Sembilan and its vicinity.

For the third year running, funds raised from the IJM Half 2017 will be channelled towards two charities, Pertubuhan Hospice Negri Sembilan and Malaysia Lysosomal Diseases Association.

The run on Aug 13 is expected to attract 7,000 participants.

It will include a 21km (half marathon) and a 10km route for the women and men category (18 years and above) as well as a girls and boys category (12 years and above).

The fastest man and woman of the race stand a chance to receive the grand IJM Land Half Marathon Challenge Trophy.

“We not only want to establish a relationship with the community, we also want to give them the opportunity to help those in need by supporting the efforts of these two organisations even if it is only in a small way,” said IJM Land Berhad (Central Region) senior general manager Datuk Hoo Kim See.

He said the event was not only a platform for running, but also to reinforce the community bond among friends and family to enjoy a healthy sport together, as reflected in our tag line: Run Together, Bond Stronger.

“This rings true for us as one of the 10 local developers who was honoured the All-Star Award – Top Ranked Developers of the Year at the prestigious StarProperty.my Awards 2017, where our own Seremban 2 township bagged the top award under the Family-Friendly category this year,” said Hoo.

Runners who have completed the race regardless of their category will also receive goodie bags with gifts from Platinum Sponsor Yakult and other sponsors; along with a finisher medal and certificate.

Exciting lucky draw prizes worth more than RM10,000 are also up for grabs.

Runners who complete the 21km race will also be entitled to a Ultron Micro-dry Finisher Tee.

Visitors and participants can also look forward to other activities on race day, including Yakult’s instant print photo booth, where visitors can snap pictures with Malaysian celebrity and Yakult ambassador Jack Lim.

There will also be free health screening and physio treatment for sprains and strains by Columbia Asia Hospital Seremban, and a booth by Befrienders Seremban.
