THE hilly and steep terrain proved to be no obstacle for some 2,000 mountain bikers as they explored the idyllic countryside in the southwest of the island during the Mountain Bike (MTB) Jamboree Balik Pulau 2017.

Participants, including those from Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, South Africa and Britain, started to gather at the starting point at Politeknik Balik Pulau in Penang, as early as 5am.
