SELF-TAUGHT Japanese artist Dr K. Sato, 74, who started painting 12 years ago afterretiring as an architect, now aims to come up with 100 paintings combining Penang’s old and modern buildings.

Inspired by the beauty and elegance of inner George Town, a Unesco world heritage site, Dr Sato started painting his masterpieces merging historical spots and streets in their current landscapes.
