KUANTAN: The Fire and Rescue Department (FRD) is setting up an auxiliary team on Gunung Tahan to facilitate search and rescue efforts on the mountain, which is the highest in peninsular Malaysia.

Its director-general Datuk Mohammad Hamdan Wahid said the team comprising mountain guides would be stationed at the exit to Gunung Tahan, namely Merapoh and Kuala Tahan.
