Call to give states more leeway

THE Federal Government has been urged to decentralise powers and give more autonomy to state governments.

Gooi Hsiao Leung (PH-Bukit Tengah) said there were instances of over-centralisation by the Federal Government where states like Penang did not have the powers to carry out policies effectively.
