Melaka enforces law to overcome problems concerning dogs

Four local councils in Melaka received 500 complaints on stray and abandoned dog for the first eight months of this year compared to 742 complaints throughout 2017.

THE state government will enforce the Dog Licensing and Breeding By-Law 2013 to ensure issues involving dogs, including neglected dogs, could be overcome, said state Housing, Local Government and Environment Committee chairman Datuk Tey Kok Kiew.

He said the by-law needed to be strengthened as four local councils in the state received 500 complaints on stray and abandoned dog for the first eight months of this year compared to 742 complaints throughout 2017. Tey was replying to a question by Seah Shoo Chin (DAP-Kesidang) at the state assembly sitting.
