Teluk Kemang fishermen stuck in poverty cycle


Mohd Fadzil says due to pollution, fishermen sometimes take home only RM10, and sometimes, go home empty-handed.

Across a beach strewn with rubbish and broken glass pieces, lay a row of dilapidated huts, home to dozens of impoverished fishermen over several decades.

Earning an average of RM800 a month with sometimes five mouths to feed at home, some of the fishermen in Teluk Kemang are stuck in a vicious cycle of poverty.
