PENANG is working on making the state safer through the installation of more CCTVs, while also moving to convert all streetlights into LED-type lights to cut down the electricity bill by more than half.
State Local Government, Housing, Town and Country Planning Committee chairman Jagdeep Singh Deo said the LED plan was in line with their election manifesto pledge to replace 20,000 streetlights in Penang with energy-efficient lights.
