SIBU: Wong Chiew Kuok’s yau char kwai (Chinese cruller) stall in SibuJaya Street Bazaar is a hit with visitors and, despite the hike in the price of raw materials, he is still keeping to a selling price of RM2 for three pieces of his savoury fritters.

“For many people, yau char kwai is a comfort food and if I increase the price, then I am depriving people of even that little bit of joy they find in their comfort food,” he said.
