KUANTAN: Imams, siak (mosque caretakers) and bilals (muezzins) should participate in cooperatives to earn some side income, said Tengku Mahkota Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah.

The Pahang Regent said they could not be involved in other types of businesses as their work was within the Islamic religious jurisdiction and their daily duties did not give them spare time to run a business on their own.
