Jewellers and banks told to step up security during festive period

WITH the festive season just around the corner, jewellery shop operators who are expecting brisk business have been told to heighten security to prevent untoward incidents.

Penang Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department head Senior Asst Comm Datuk Mohamad Anil Shah said the move was necessary to prevent robbery during Thaipusam on Jan 31 and Chinese New Year on Feb 16.
