SELANGOR Public Works Department (JKR) says it will take action to increase road safety outside SJK (T) Ladang Kinrara in Jalan Puchong following complaints from concerned parents on road safety in the area.
A JKR spokesman acknowledged that the road outside the Tamil school was the department’s jurisdiction.
He said officers visited the area outside the school after StarMetro highlighted the issue today.
“As an immediate measure, rumble strips will be laid and bollards will be constructed to prevent school buses from parking on the side close to the entrance of the school,” he added.
One of the biggest concerns highlighted by the parents was the speed limit near the school, which they said should be capped at 30kph.
However, the spokesman said the speed limit along Jalan Puchong outside the school needed to be discussed before it could be implemented.
