Large crowds throng state-level Deepavali open house

MORE than 3,000 people of various races attended the state-level Deepavali open house at the multi-purpose hall in Sungai Jawi near Nibong Tebal.

The crowd was treated to an array of dishes such as thosai, fried koay teow, bihun, tomato rice, chicken kurma, curry and eggs during the three-hour event which ended at 6pm on Sunday.
