Etiqa Academy Day

Karunakaran and Etiqa Academy head Muhammad Adli Alias officiating Etiqa Academy Day 2017. More than 600 agents and staff attended the event which was held at Etiqa Academy, Kuala Lumpur. The event was aimed at introducing a refreshed Academy that also launched a new tagline, “Knowledge Mandates Action”. Etiqa Academy is a centre that provides knowledge and skills development for Etiqa Insurance & Takaful agents. It is equipped with modern facilities for training and learning needs of the agents.

A smart design

(from left) Invest Selangor chief executive officer Datuk Hasan Azhari Idris, Smart Selangor Deliver Unit project manager Mazlan Mahadi and winner Winnie Tan Jia Ci. Tan’s logo design was selected as the official logo of Smart Selangor. The Multimedia Technology student from Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) also walked away with a cash prize of RM3,000 and a Certificate of Achievement. She participated in the Smart Selangor Design Hack, a logo design competition organized by the Selangor government which saw participation from 22 Multimedia and Design students from local and private universities. The logo was unveiled at the Selangor International Expo 2017.

Uber trip to Ipoh

Uber Malaysia Expansion general manager Karina Ali Noor (left) and Destination Perak Sales and Marketing head Hisham Yusof launching UberTRIP. This is a partnership between Uber and Destination Perak, the state’s tourism agency. UberTRIP is a time-based ride-on-demand service that allow riders to explore and travel around in popular tourist destinations in the convenience, comfort and safety of an Uber. Ipoh will be the first city in Malaysia to offer UberTRIP. Participating UberTRIP driver-partners will also undergo travel guidetraining with Destination Perak. This will allow UberTRIP driver-partners to provide value-added services to riders who will also have the benefit of a local guide to show them around. While riders can choose wherever they want to go using UberTRIP, Destination Perak has also designed three suggested routes for for their consideration.

When East meets West

Held at the Grand Ballroom of Le Meridien Hotel Kuala Lumpur, guests were taken on a nostalgic ride back to the 1950s with props and paraphernalia decorating the ballroom. The event is a way to celebrate and honour the longstanding partnerships between the bank and its loyal corporate clients. This year’s theme was chosen as a reminder of OCBC’s eastern past and modern western diversity.

Spreading cheer to children

Nestl (Malaysia) Berhad chief executive officer Alois Hofbauer and his wife Dominique Hofbauer (left) spending some quality time with the children of Rumah Charis during the Nestum cookies decorating session. Nestl Malaysia treated over 40 children at the home o a special evening as part of its ‘Reaching Out to Community and Kids’ (ROCKS) EmployeeVolunteer Programme. Over 30 Nestl volunteers brought fun to the home with activities likecolouring, face painting, balloons and party games. Nestl also presented the home with electrical items including standing fans, a PA system, electronic oven, as well as Nestl products including Milo, Everyday milk powder, Nestum, Maggi sauces, and Nestl Breakfast Cereal.
