ALTHOUGH his father and grandfather were Rotarians, joining to serve society with the local Rotary Club in Colombo was not exactly the first thing on K.R. Ravindran’s mind.

“Well, working on the plantation sector, it was lonely, I wanted to make friends, and eventually the service part grows on you, what bands you together is the fun of doing community work together,” said Ravindran.
