EASTIN Hotel Penang is lighting up the month of Ramadan with its Kembara Desa buffet dinner featuring traditional kampung flavours.
Available nightly from May 28 to June 24 at the Swez Brasserie, it is an elaborate spread similar to those served during Hari Raya in the good old days.
So gather with families, friends or colleagues to share the assorted Ulaman and Herba Kampung, alongside 10 types of Aneka Kerabu.
There is also Rojak Mambo to get your appetite going after a day of fasting. Then, hit the hot dish section for rice, tasty curries and more.
Possibilities include Ayam Masak Merah, Daging Kuzi Daun Pudina, Ikan Tenggiri Gulai Kampung, Ketam Manis and Memang Pedas Oatmeal Prawns, to name a few.
But the highlight is the Kambing Golek Beratur Panjang, a herb-marinated and roast whole lamb — so named because it is so delicious, there are always people queueing up for it.
This, together with the Negri Sembilan Ayam Percik Seri Wangi flavoured with herbs and lemongrass, go well with the flavourful Briyani Pak Raj.
The Semenanjung Noodles Stall could offer Laksa Buyong, Laksa Sarawak, Laksa Johor, Mee Jawa, Mee Goreng Mamak, or even Selangor Popiah Basah.
Other stations serve up Bubur Lambuk, a festive must-have, as well as Pulut dan Lemang, Chicken Tandoori, Lamb Masala Thosai, Bombay Briyani and Chicken Shawarma.
For desserts, there are ais kacang, traditional Malay cookies and kuih, cakes and puddings, as well as assorted flavours of ice cream and fresh fruits.
The buffet, served from 7pm to 10pm, is priced at RM120 for adults.
One can also buy buffet vouchers at RM95 from May 28 onwards, available only while stocks last. It is valid for use until June 24.
Otherwise, present a printout of the voucher retrieved from the hotel’s Facebook page, to enjoy a rate of RM100 under a social media and credit card promo.
