Seafood and barbecue buffet satisfies all cravings

Enjoy the succulent bounty of the ocean and land straight from the grill at Ixora Hotel’s seafood and barbecue buffet at The Straits Cafe & Lounge every Saturday. 

Dine to your heart’s content on oysters, prawns, mussels, scallops, flower crabs, slipper lobsters, bamboo clams, fish, lamb shank, assorted sausages, beef and chicken.

Taste the oceanic sweetness of fresh seafood on ice while the grill is all fired up.

There are two rotational menus to tantalise tastebuds.

Diners can whet their appetites on salads including Japanese baby octopus salad, cold cut and cheese platters as well as soup such as wild creamy mushroom and cream of potato.

The main courses consist of vegetable lasagna, stewed duck, braised vegetable with scallops and mushroom, braised fish maw, steamed custard egg and crabmeat with vegetable.

Besides the grill station, there are also action counters whipping up noodles such as prawn noodles and laksa.

Desserts are not forgotten. End your culinary experience with items such as leng chee kang with condiments and ice cream.

Other sweet indulgences comprise chocolate fountain, creme brulee, assorted French pastries, cheesecake, panna cotta, sticky black glutinous rice with mango, pavlova and cake of the month – the refreshing pandan vanilla.

The pastries and cakes are a must-try as pastry chef Lim Hock Chun recently clinched the Most Outstanding Penang International Halal Patisserie Award at the 4th Penang International Halal Chef Challenge.

Ixora Hotel also emerged the overall champion in the competition with an accolade haul of seven silver and three bronze medals plus three diplomas.

Variety and reasonable pricing are the order of the day for the seafood and barbecue buffet which is served from 7pm to 10pm.

The buffet is priced at RM78 nett per adult. Children aged four to 12 and senior citizens aged 60 or above get to enjoy the buffet for RM48 nett.
