AS A child, yee sang was not featured prominently in the reunion dinners I attended, and as far as I can remember, it was served only on the second day of Chinese New Year.
Obviously, this is not the case anymore, and with the switch from grass carp to salmon, it becomes harder for chefs to distinguish their different festive offerings.
