Local delights for breaking of fast Savour authentic flavours that make each dish special for buffet diners

SAVOUR a medley of traditional kampung flavours at The Light Hotel’s Nostalgia Sajian Desa Ramadan Buffet in Seberang Jaya, Penang.

The sumptuous spread features the signature nasi briyani kambing panggang and other Malaysian favourites like rendang daging tok, lala masak cili api and burung puyuh percik.

Also worth mentioning are sayur Harissa (cauliflower and carrot) with its distinct taste to whet appetites, sambal udang petai, sotong sumbat pulut, kebab ayam shawarma and ayam masak lemak dengan nangka muda Sik.

More choices include kambing vindaloo, ikan goreng Nyonya Melaka, Chinese-style black pepper prawn, daging gulai kawah, perut lembu gulai lemak, inchi kabin, petola tumis Soo Hoon and ayam masak kuzi.

The buffet will be a blissful dining experience for family and friends to come together and rejoice in the Ramadan spirit.

The Iftar meal would not be complete without the plethora of appetisers such as kerabu pucuk paku, rojak Mamak and gado-gado Indonesia as well as soups consisting the must-have bubur lambuk, soto ayam Madura and sup kambing berempah Sri Melayu.

Adding to the fun are six action stalls churning out char koay teow, roast lamb leg, ayam perchik Nusantara, mee bandung, murtabak, ayam tandoori with naan, and mee udang, to name a few.

There are also dim sum compri-sing steamed chicken siew mai, deep-fried sesame ball with peanut and scallop with Thai chilli sauce, and pizza such as rendang ayam, seafood and sambal ikan bilis.

To round up are over 20 varieties of irresistible desserts such as agar-agar bandung, serawa pisang bersago, bubur manis, kek lapis pandan, chocolate mousse, cheese brownie and bubur cha cha.

Now serving at the Spice Brasserie from 7pm to 10pm daily until July 3, the buffet is priced at RM79+ for adults, RM60+ for senior citizens and RM48+ for children.

One person eats free with every 10 full paying adults.

Dine to the melodious tunes played by the Rayyan band that will entertain diners with its selection of Nasyid, Arab and Malay songs. 

And for the convenience of Muslim patrons, the hotel has prepared prayer rooms for them to perform Maghrib and Isha prayers as well as tarawih.
