RAPID Bus Sdn Bhd has introduced an identification card for its bus drivers.
It is an initiative to increase public confidence in using the bus service and to promote the use of public transport.
This programme aims to upgrade the image of the bus drivers and to strengthen the relationship between Rapid Bus and its passengers.
Company chief executive officer Mohd Azam Omar said the launch of the bus driver identity card could improve communication between the public and Rapid Bus and its service brands such as Rapid KL, Rapid Penang, Rapid Kuantan and Rapid Kamunting.
“By showing the bus captain identity card, I hope it can improve the driver’s relationship with his passengers.
“However, the identity card is not a platform for the public to complain about the company’s bus drivers,” he said.
He added that Rapid Bus would continue to strengthen the Budaya Layanan Cemerlang programme among its staff, especially frontline workers such as bus drivers and traffic controllers.
Mohd Azam said Rapid Bus would continue to undertake more initiatives in its mission to improve the bus service industry and to help Malaysia achieve its target of 40% public transport modal share by 2030.
“Rapid Bus is now in the final preparation of beginning operations of Rapid Manjung in Perak and Rapid Sungai Petani in Kedah,” he added.
