Syabas staff supplying drinking water to Taman Dagang residents.
BOTTLED drinking water and water supply have been distributed to residents at Taman Dagang in Kuala Lumpur and Wangsa Maju Section 2 in Gombak.
They experienced water disruption since Aug 9 to accommodate repair works on the water distribution system equipment at the Kepong Estate pump house.
Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Syabas) said that water was supplied using water tankers to the residents since Wednesday night.
The repair works were completed at 1am yesterday.
In a statement yesterday, Syabas said water supply in affected areas of Gombak were restored but a few areas in Kuala Lumpur were still in the process of recovery at press time, adding that it might take a longer time for premises located on higher ground and at the end of the water distribution system to get their water supply.
Meanwhile, relief water supply will still be delivered via water tankers to affected areas.
Consumers can request for this service by sending SMS to 15300 (Type: Tankername and address).
Syabas also said a false message had gone viral regarding water disruption in several areas in Shah Alam.
“The message that has gone viral on social media about water interruption in Puncak Alam, Alam Perdana, Alam Jaya, Puncak Bestari, Alam Suria supposedly from Aug 19 to Aug 25 is false,” the statement read.
