ST Regis Kuala Lumpur is joining in the celebration of the newly opened second phase of Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Sungai Buloh-Kajang (SBK) line today.
A 10-minute fireworks display will be the highlight tonight as the hotel in KL Sentral commemorates the event together with the Hari Raya celebration.
“We are thrilled to have the MRT so near our hotel and we have been waiting patiently for this day since contruction began on the project,” said One IFC chief executive officer Carmen Chua.
She said St Regis built an underground tunnel connecting the Muzium Negara station to the hotel.
“The opening of this phase 2 will definitely help in providing our guests a more convenient way to get around the city centre,” she added.
The fireworks will be ignited from the Muzium Negara carpark at 10.30pm.

The second phase of the 51km Mass Rapid Transit Sungai Buloh-Kajang SBK line was launched by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak earlier today.
Phase 2 of the line runs from the Semantan station to the Kajang Station and has 19 stations across 30km.
This follows the opening of Phase 1 of the SBK line last December.
