Esscom forces have foiled over 1,000 smuggling activities

KOTA KINABALU: The Eastern Sabah Security Command (Esscom) have conducted a series of successful operations and arrests throughout 2016 and up to June this year because of the commitment of security forces and cooperation from the public.

Outgoing Esscom commander Datuk Wan Abdul Bari Wan Abdul Khalid said they managed to foil some 1,057 smuggling attempts for items involving taxes worth RM14.09mil since 2016.
