PENANG Adventist Hospital (PAH) hopes to raise RM1mil by getting 500 people to go bald for the Go Bald, Go the Distance Charity Head Shaving and Food Carnival on July 16.
Its chief executive officer Dr Wesley Toh said the carnival was in aid of the Dr J. Earl Gardner Fund, which provides financial aid to needy patients suffering from chronic illnesses or undergoing major surgery.
“Through the fundraising event, we hope the needy patients will receive quality medical treatment and care at PAH.
“This will be our third time organising such an event.
“Besides the Go Bald session, there are also food stalls meant to create good moments for family and friends.
“Baptain is the official hairdresser for this event. They have been very supportive all this while,” said Toh during a press conference at the hospital.
The carnival will be held on Level 7 of the hospital’s multi- storey car park from 10am to 3pm. Those who go bald will be entitled to a lucky draw.
Organisations including Hard Rock Hotel Penang, G Hotel Penang, Evergreen Laurel Hotel, Holiday Inn Resort, Bukit Merah Laketown and Sunshine Square are supporting the event.
In 2016, the Dr J. Earl Gardner Fund gave out RM248,552 to deserving recipients.
