Penang Museum to reopen in three years with more facilities and exhibits


Exhibits from the Penang Museum in Farquhar Street will be temporarily housed at its branch here at 57, Macalister Road until restoration and upgrading works are completed in 2020.

THE Penang Museum, which has seen a steady increase in the number of visitors over the past several years, is looking forward to even bigger numbers once its restoration is completed in three years.

The museum board administrative assistant Radziah Othuman Sahib said the number of visitors increased from 66,747 people in 2012 to 73,238 people in 2013, 95,733 (2014), 114,976 (2015) and 115,786 last year.
