50 evacuees return home from flood relief centre in Kulim


Villagers seeking safe refuge at Sekolah Tadika Kemas Padang Limau in Kulim, Kedah, before returning home after the floods subsided.

A FIVE-hour continuous downpour on Tuesday evening saw 53 people evacuated to a relief centre because of flash flood at Kampung Padang Limau in Kulim, Kedah.

Kedah Civil Defence Force director Lt Col Mohd Zul Khairi Shamsuddin said the downpour, which started at about 5pm on Tuesday, saw water level rising fast, reaching 0.5m high.
