A HUNDRED birds were set free at the crack of dawn on International Women’s Day at Taman Tasik Menjalara to symbolise liberation from gender discrimination and abuse.

Led by Gerakan Central Committee member Jayanthi Balaguru, more than 24 women from different backgrounds gathered at the park in Bandar Sri Menjalara, Kuala Lumpur, to send a message of unity, familial love and understanding.
