Dancing is the children’s cup of tea


Dancers from SJK(C) Union in action en route to winning the first prize in the Chinese Dance Culture Competition for primary school pupils at USM.

CLAD in traditional costume, the young dancers were full of oomph as they performed a show depicting a group of native women picking tea leaves.

Aged between 10 and 12, the group of 15 girls from SJK(C) Union in Burmah Road, Penang, danced to the tune of the song ‘Shan Cha Mei Zi’ (Tea Leaves Maiden).
