Council delays work to widen drain in temple complex

The 1.5m-wide drain at Fook Pou Tong (Cave of Happiness) and Wat Phuparattanawarararm Temple is to be widened to 3.6m to resolve flash flood problems near where the temples are located.

THE TEMPLE committee of Fook Pou Tong (Cave of Happiness) and Wat Phuparattanawarararm, located off Jalan Kuala Kangsar, are calling for the Ipoh City Council to delay work to widen the temples’ monsoon drain.

This is so that there is ample time for both the temple committee and the council to hold discussions on how to carry out the construction work in a manner without affecting sacred ground.
