JOHOR BARU: Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) has established an education wakaf (Islamic endowment) fund, Dana Wakaf Pendidikan UTM (DWP-UTM), to further promote education and the importance of knowledge.
UTM vice-chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Wahid Omar said that through the wakaf concept, students from all backgrounds would be able to take part in the act of giving and receiving, as it was in their objective to provide assistance regardless of religion.
