MOUNTAIN guides and villagers living in the vicinity of Gunung Baling and Gunung Pulai in Kedah will be trained to handle fire-fighting equipment and to fight forest fires.

The state Fire and Rescue Department has offered to train these people so they can provide preliminary support to the department when forest fires break out on the two mountains in central Kedah.
