SIBU: Gawai Dayak Festival is about three weeks away on June 1 and 2. It is an important thanksgiving day for the community to mark a bountiful harvest and a time to plan for a new farming season or other endeavour ahead.
Like other communities celebrating their own festival with must-have food, the Dayak has their own signature cookie – kueh chuan.
