A thunderstorm this evening (May 7) left a trail of fallen trees and damaged traffic lights in the Subang Jaya municipal.
When contacted by StarMetro, Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) MPSJ corporate communications officer Azli Muhammad Azli
Miswan, said, "A flash flood in USJ 13 left many cars damaged. A traffic light near the USJ 23 KFC has malfunctioned.
"We have received reports of fallen trees in USJ 6/7, USJ 13, USJ 9, USJ 11, and behind the TNB station in SS14/7. Along Jalan PBP 1, a tree has fallen onto a lorry," he said.
He added that there were also several cases of fallen trees the day before along Jalan KP 1/6, in Sungai Kuyoh, and between Taman Saujana Puchong SP 7 and SP 8. The ones at Kampung Tengah and PUJ 6/6 have been cleared.
He assured that MPSJ is attending to the situation at hand.
"We are working with the police and fire and rescue department.
"Our landscape and engineering department staff are at site, they will focus on critical complaints first, the ones that are blocking roads and pose a risk to road users.
"Our hotline staff will be working 24 hours until Sunday, they are helping to help with the complaints on fallen trees. As many areas are affected, we will divide the staff into different teams to attend to problems in the various areas," he said.
