Higher wages the main draw for locals working in Singapore

JOHOR BARU: Businesses, especially the small and medium enterprises (SMEs) here, are facing problems hiring locals as they still prefer to cross over and work in Singapore, said Johor South SME Association founding president Teh Kee Sin.

He said the minimum wage of RM1,000 in the peninsular, which is to take effect in July, hardly attracts locals to work in Johor Baru.
