Invest in a fire extinguisher for own safety, public urged

For businessman V. Ramachantiran, setting up a company selling fire extinguishers has always been a passion after his own personal encounter with a fire at his home on the eve of Deepavali many years ago.

The 39-year-old managing director of Southern Fire and Aid Sdn Bhd said: “I remember everyone panicking and screaming and shouting to call the fire department,” he said, adding that he did not have a fire extinguisher and none of his neighbours also had one.
