Heat takes a toll on attractions

JOURNEY to the orang utan island on Bukit Merah Lake is now almost five times longer.

Since most parts of the lake are now shallow, the animals’ caretakers have to paddle to a small motorised boat parked where the water is deeper before carefully navigating it to the island.
