Several parts of Hulu Langat are experiencing temporary water shortage as the demand for the supply goes up during this hot spell.
Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn. Bhd spokesman said the hot weather has caused the Cheras and Bangi reservoirs to go below its normal level as demand for water increased.
The shortage caused some interruption even though the water treatment plants serving both the areas are fully operational.
The spokesman said the water supply would resume in stages when the level in the reservoirs stabilise.
The affected areas in Hulu Langat are Taman Juara Jaya, Taman Bukit Belimbing, Taman Sungai Besi Indah, Taman Harmoni Indah, Taman Puncak Utama, Taman Putra Budiman, Taman Balakong Jaya, Taman Sri Timah, Taman Taming Jaya, Balakong Industrial Area, Selesa Jaya Industrial Area, Balakong Industry, Taman Taming Permai, Lifong Industrial Area, Juta Mines Condominium, Jade Hill, Kampung Baru Balakong, Bangi Golf Resort, Kajang Utama, UKM, Alam Sari, Taman Tropika, Taman Universiti, GMI, Taman Tropika 2 and Taman Vista Emas.
Water tankers have been dispatched to the affected areas to provide temporary water supply.
