HIGHWAY construction sites which do not meet safety and health standards can be ordered to stop work immediately by the Occupational Safety and Health Department (DOSH).

Malaysian Highway Authority director Datuk Ismail Md Salleh said there had not been a strict stance in issuing penalties and stop-work orders but that would change.
