WHEN Keith William Pointer first arrived at Aiman Batang Ai Resort and Retreat in mid-January, he was in for a shock.
The longhouse-style jungle getaway, four hours by road from Kuching, had all the trappings of a majestic remote hideout. Facing a serene man-made dam, the resort had comfortable accommodation, a swimming pool, tennis court, peaceful and rich fauna and flora surroundings, a nature walkway and several longhouses just a short boatride away.
