MIRI: Major growth areas like Samalaju — a new state seat in northern Sarawak — has seen an influx of workers.

Samalaju alone has seen an increase of up to 7,000 workers and this is putting a strain on basic amenities like telecommunications, roads and public transportation, said Bintulu MP Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing.
