Foundation to promote reading


KUCHING: The Asia Foundation, a non-profit body that donates books to community libraries, schools and universities, has started operating in Sarawak.

Launched yesterday, the US-based foundation is working with the Sarawak Foundation (better known as Yayasan Sarawak) on the Books for Asia programme, which began in peninsular Malaysia in September 2014, where 19,000 books have been distributed to roughly 150 institutions since.
