Instructor’s trance-inspired routine wins school first prize in dance festival

KEAT Hwa Secondary School folk dance club instructor Chia Kai Xian took inspiration from his religious father to choreograph a dance routine for his students that was based on the Chinese trance.

The result was a haunting but mesmerising dance that managed to captivate the judges, winning them the open category of the 27th Malaysian Chinese Dance Festival.
